Summer Survival at Eden

The Eden Project, Bodelva

This summer we're embracing survival at the Eden Project.

Our summer survival challenge will teach families how to build a den, make fire from friction, forage for food, build mini rafts and learn how to survive by real bushcraft experts.

Learn to make fire without the use of matches
Build a shelter, will it protect your family from the elements?
Discover the things you’d need to survive in our Jungle.
Forage for food & discover the incredible edibles in Britain’s hedgerows and fields
Construct a mini raft, will it float?
Summer nights!
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights over the summer we are open til 8pm.

Why not come straight from the beach, have dinner in one of our lovely restaurants and tire the kids out with a trek through the rainforest before bed?!

If you arrive at Eden after 3.30pm admission is reduced and children get in FREE!

Foraging tours
Could you be passing up a free feast every day? Want to know what wild food and natural remedies lie on your doorstep? Each weekend throughout the holidays you can join our experts, including Andy and Dave Hamilton, authors of 'The Self-Sufficientish Bible' on a foraging tour of the site:

Wild food talk: Saturday & Sunday mornings at 10.30 (free)

H20 Community Water Challenge!
Join our pollination team every weekday at 2pm and take part in our water challenge. We'll be transporting water from one end of the arena to the other using a hand pump, bamboo poles and plenty of willing volunteers! Get your family involved in this fun (and wet) way of examining one of the planet's most precious resources.

Primitive weapons
Over selected dates in the holidays, we'll be running an archery range for you to practise those hunting skills. £1 for three arrows.

Archery workshops will be running on the 27 & 30 July and the 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 29 & 30 August. We're hoping to add additional dates, so check here often!

Weekends throughout the summer
Dave and Andy Hamilton, authors of critically acclaimed and fast-selling "The Self-Sufficientish Bible" will be joining us to run a weekend programme of public talks and bespoke foraging tours around site.

Meet the Maasai!
Between Friday August 28 and Saturday September 5, nine members of Kenya's Maasai tribe will be getting involved with the summer survival programme and demonstrating their traditional dancing and singing and sharing stories and skills. Performances start at 11am, 1pm and 4:15pm.
